Freelance journalist in Turkey

Ilgin Yorulmaz is a journalist writing about human rights, immigration, social justice and religion. Initially a culture reporter, her previous work has appeared in Turkish Vogue and Maison Française magazines, as well as Condé Nast Traveller UK and The Guardian UK. Ilgin got her start in digital journalism back in 2007 at an English-Turkish community newspaper she founded and edited, reporting on Istanbul’s backstreets.  She has degrees in business, international relations from International University of Japan and journalism from Columbia University. She speaks Japanese and Turkish. She lives with her husband, daughter and son.
