Auschwitz Museum – June 8, 2014 During one week in 1941, Nazis killed over 30,000 Jews at Babi Yar in Ukraine, but the psychological effects of murdering thousands of innocent people began to take its toll on low-level soldiers who carried out the massacres, so the Nazi command began to look for more efficient ways to kill. Poisons like Zyklon B were more effective than bullets for murdering large numbers of people in Nazi death camps. 06/08/2014 Photo by Karen Petree.
